Simple, Neutral Christmas Decor

Sharing is caring!

Christmas is here! I’m not going to lie, I was so excited this year that I started decorating early. I started by sprinkling in a few ceramic houses and trees in with my knit pumpkins. No big deal, right? Well now I am full blown into the Christmas decorations and my theme this year has been simple, neutral Christmas decor.

I have the traditional green, but I stayed away from red. So, I mostly have green, white, browns and black. I wasn’t sure how I would like it, but I LOVE it! It feels so cozy. Plus, I’ve been able to find ways to use my regular decor and implement them in with the Christmas decor and you would never know it wasn’t seasonal! I’m all about saving that extra buck!

Here’s my simple, neutral Christmas decor this year (2020). I’ll share links for items for your convenience and if I can’t find the exact item, I will try to share items that are similar. Just scroll through the roll of images of the items that are found in my pictures and click on the image to shop.

Living Room

First up is the living room. Of course, because it’s the coziest! I DIYed a lot of my decor this year including the knit garland, these cozy yarn trees and the faux clay ornaments! I really love all the ceramic decorations and the classy look some sparkly decorations can bring, but I also wanted to make sure my living room felt cozy. So, I added fuzzy throw pillows and blankets in various spots, I got stockings that are knitted and have faux fur, I tried to work in some of the black and white buffalo check pattern, and incorporated yarn DIYs.

Dining Room

My dining room is connected to my living room. So my goal was to keep it classy, but also incorporate some of the cozy vibes from the living room. On my dining room table, I layered table runners, using a chiffon satin table runner on top and then added some garland and candles. To bring in the cozy vibes, I added some of my yarn trees and a couple wooden decorations I snagged in the dollar spot at Target.

Entryway

My entryway is small. I basically just have the old TV stand that I DIYed into an entry bench. It’s mostly convenience for our home, but I still try to make it feel inviting by decorating the bench a bit and hanging some lit garland wrapped with one of my DIY knit garlands.

Kitchen

I’ve been working on redoing our kitchen. Recently, I painted the cabinets and updated the hardware, put contact paper on our countertops, built an accent cabinet door, put contact paper on our fridge, updated the kitchen table, and I just finished my hexagon backsplash. I still want to redo the floors and create a fun accent wall where the table is. With everything so new and fresh, I wanted to keep it simple and fairly classy in here. So I just added small touches here and there. I put ceramic houses on the small shelves and added a few little trees.

Bathroom

Do you put Christmas decorations in your bathroom? I don’t always, but this year I really wanted to do a little something. We have open shelving in our bathroom, so I just added a few trees and some greenery just to make it a little festive but keep up the theme of the neutral Christmas decor.

Master Bedroom

I kept it fairly simple in our master bedroom as well. Just a festive pillow on the bed, a sign above the bed that I DIYed and a few decorations on the bureau. Nothing too crazy.

I hope you were able to snag some ideas for your own neutral Christmas decor or any theme you go with! My favorite thing with decorating is finding the perfect blend of classy and cozy. I like my home to look nice, but at them end of the day, we LIVE here so I mostly want it to feel like home.

What’s your favorite theme for Christmas decorations?
