Sharing is caring!

2020 has been a crazy year, but it has also been an exciting one for our home as I have been busy with DIY projects this year. So, I decided to do a roundup of my best DIY projects of 2020.

This year I have transformed my kitchen, painted almost every room in the house, worked with tools I never thought I would work with, and on Instagram I tried to share a weekly DIY that was under $50. I wanted to give my followers a variety of projects for them to try out no matter what stage of DIYing they were in.

I loved every project I did, but there were definitely a few that I got the most feedback on or that I was most proud of. Here they are!

Best DIY Projects of 2020

Contact Paper on Countertops

I put contact paper on my countertops. This was a budget-friendly option as I’m just giving our kitchen a somewhat temporary makeover. I was skeptical at first, but I’m so glad I tried it! It has changed the look of our kitchen and I am so impressed with how it’s holding up. I answer all the common questions I myself had before doing this project in this post. Check it out!

Fridge Makeover

After I discovered my love for contact paper with the countertops, I wanted to cover everything in my house. This easy DIY with contact paper gives the fridge a sleek look. Plus, I DIYed some unique handles to give it a new, custom look!

DIY Custom Door

I’m probably most proud of this. I picked up tools I didn’t think I would and completed my first wood working project. I of course can’t make anything easy for myself and designed a challenging design, but it was so much fun. Looking at it every day, I’m so glad I ended up doing it. It makes such an amazing accent statement in our kitchen.

DIY Faux Clay Vase

So simple, but it makes any old vase look STUNNING. Anyone with baking soda and paint can do this project.

DIY Ottoman Slipcover

This was my first big sewing project. My mom is pretty much a seamstress so I grew up sewing a bit, but nothing like making a slipcover. I turned this out-of-place ottoman into a focal point in our living room.

DIY Christmas Garland

This is technically a Christmas decor DIY, but you could definitely find a way to use it all year long. It just gives any room a cozy vibe and it was my favorite thing in my Christmas decor this year.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed hanging out with me while I did these DIYs this year as much as I enjoyed doing them. I’m so excited to see what 2021 will bring! I have some fun ideas!!
